The Alabama Forestry Commission will be administering a forestry financial assistance program for timber owners negatively affected by the
COVID-19 pandemic. This program is made possible with funding from the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)
of which Governor Ivey has awarded $10 million from Alabama’s Coronavirus Relief Fund.
The application period for this program is mid-September 2020 through mid-October 2020. Application information will be provided by the
Alabama Forestry Commission.
Forestry Financial Assistance Program:
- $10 million to provide timber owners, that qualify, a onetime financial assistance payment based upon the timber volume harvested during
the early stages of the pandemic, March 01, 2020 to July 30, 2020.
- Timber owners who meet the eligibility requirements are eligible to receive $1.00 per ton for timber harvested during the aforementioned
time frame.
- Applicants who receive payment are capped at a maximum payment of $10,000.00.
